Jonah

The book of Jonah is one of the most fascinating books in the Bible. There are tons of books, commentaries and studies done on Jonah. Jonah is 100% the real deal. You do not have to wonder what he is thinking. When most people hear of Jonah they think, “Oh yeah that guy that was swallowed by a fish, or shark or whale.” Most people know what happened, but they don’t know why it happened. They believe that story of Jonah is about “obedience” or “disobedience,” and that is part of it. Jonah is really about a city, a “great city,” called Nineveh. God saw something in a city that Jonah didn’t see. So often, we are like Jonah, we don’t see what God is seeing. We see God’s vision when we choose to be obedient and do what He asks. Through obedience, God’s plan unfolds in a beautiful way.
